Evenng - the DVD Cover | EveningA star-studded cast - it was Toni Colette that caught my eye. Reviews of this movie are mediocre, but I watched it before reading any reviews and really enjoyed it. Ann is approaching death and keeps mentioning "Harris" - her first mistake. Her two daughters are mystified - and by flicking between now and 50 years ago we build the story. | Ann, back then, was bridesmaid for her best friend who really loved someone other than the suitable husband that Rhode Island society was fitting her up with. This "other" (unsuitable) person becomes Ann's one night fling that she broods over for the rest of her life - recallling him vividly on her deathbed. So, forget the critics, this is a really enjoyable movie beautifully photographed. | Young Ann with Harris |
