I rang the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra, and the lady gave me an e-mail address so I could send my query in writing. Here detailed replay was: In response to your email regarding importation of a dog into Bali, please consider the following requirements: Request of Importation - Request of importations of dog into Indonesia must be made one month before the importation to: Director of Animal Health Directorate General of Livestock Production Management Department of Agriculture Building C, 9th Floor Jalan Harsono RM No. 3 Ragunan, Pasar Minggu, Jakarta Selatan Ph : 62-21 781 0090, 782 7466 Fax : 62-21 781 5783 - In the importation request, should be stated the information about the animal (sex, age, color, specific mark, name of the animal, address in Indonesia). Requirements - Hold a Health Certificate issued by the vet from the country of origin which states that the animal has done a health check-up, healthy, and for the last four months does not catch any rabies. - Hold a passport which states that you have own the dog for at least 6 months and is not currently more than 6 weeks pregnant. Quarantine Procedures - Indonesian Animal Quarantine Office at the airport/seaport should be notified of the arrival date, time and flight/ship number. - Owner or appointed agent is liable to the animal once it arrives at the airport/seaport and obliged to request a check-up with the Quarantine Vet at the airport/seaport - Owner or appointed agent must give the following information to the Vet: * Permit of importation of dog which issued by the Director of Animal Health, Department of Agriculture of Indonesia * Health Certificate issued by the vet of country of origin * Letter of Statement from the flight/ship captain stating that the animal has not been landed and does not show any symptom of rabies * Certificate of Rabies Vaccination - If, after quarantine, found that the animal is healthy, does not have rabies, and the papers are complete, the Quarantine Vet will issue a permit to release the animal. - If, after quarantine, found that the animal is healthy, does not have rabies, but the papers are not complete, the owner will be given time to complete it. During that time, the animal must stay in quarantine. - If, after quarantine, found that the animal is healthy, does not have rabies, but the papers cannot be completed during the given time, the animal must be put in quarantine for 4 months.
