Stairway to Heaven?
Stairway to Heaven?

The curved stairway is taking shape - is it the stairway to heaven?  We certainly plan to create an upstairs atmosphere that is a paradise.

So here we are at week 10 of the building and we see rendered walls, door and window frames, preparation for the high roof and the shape of the pool.

Twin Guest Rooms

The two separate buildings are progressing.  On the left is the staff room in the south west corner which will share a roof with the car space.  On the right are the twin guest rooms in the south east corner.

Here are two views of the back (south side) of the house.  On the left, the main entry with Timor doors and the west bedroom.  On the right  we see the central and east bedrooms and the indoor/outdoor bathroom of the east bedroom.

Two weeks ago, formwork cluttered the pool space - but now that has gone so the shape of the pool with steps down either side of the central jacuzzi is becoming clear.

The internal walls are now rendered and the concrete floors are ready for the sandstone that will cover them.  The left photo is from the east bedroom where you can see into the bathroom, and through the window- past the guest rooms to the hills beyond.  In the centre we are looking from the central bedroom and you can see Jalan Tulip approaching from the main road. On the right we are looking west from the west bedroom into its bathroom.

On the left we are looking east out the kitchen window - the sink will be under the window, and the stove to the right.  To the right of the stub wall will be the fridge.  The photo on the right looks towards this fridge space and the side entry door - and shows how the convex side of the curved feature wall is one side of the kitchen.

Beams and support for the tall roof as seen from the living room looking north over the sea, then on the right we are looking from near the fron fence back into the same room.
